Membership:
Three types of membership are available.
Individual, dues $21; Family, dues $26 (two members at one address receiving
only one copy of the journals) and Associate, $15
Journals:
The Greenville Chapter Journal and The Greenville
Chapter Newsletter are publications of the Greenville Chapter of the South
Carolina Genealogical Society, Inc. All members receive these journals. The
Newsletter is published monthly except December, July and August. It announces
data about the monthly meeting, carries notices of other meetings, has requests
for information and other items of current interest to membership.
The Greenville Chapter Journal is published biannually. This publication carries items of greater length than is possible in the monthly Newsletter, such as abstracts of wills, deeds and probate records, Bible records, lineage charts; data on pension records; transcripts of talks presented at Chapter meetings, articles of historic and/or genealogical significance; requests for information and other material of general interest--most of this pertaining to the Greenville County area.
Other benefits of membership:
Each chapter member is also a member of the State
Society and receives The Carolina Herald, notices of the Annual Workshop and the
Annual Meeting of the Society, and is entitled to reduced rates at State and
Chapter Workshops.
Announcements of the Genealogical workshops held at the Greenville County Library are publicized through the chapter. Titles of new books and computer resources in the South Carolina Room of the library are published in the Newsletter.
